This SwimRun event consists of approximately 13.5 miles swimming and running for the Long Course and nearly 8.5 miles of racing for the Short Course. This event is NOT for the average swimmer. The Long Course would not be recommended as a first time SwimRun race for anyone other than experienced endurance competitors who possess exceptional and strong open water swimming skills and a high level of preparation.
Solo compeitors are able to register for our Short Course only and a personal swim buoy is REQUIRED.
Wetsuits* worn by all competitors covering at a minimum, the torso and upper half of thighs. (*Note: we will be enforcing a 120 degree rule meaning if the air plus water temperature is under 120 degrees F at the start, wetsuits are required. If it is over 120, they will be optional but still recommended.) For example, if the air temperature is 52 and the water temperature is 65, the combined temperature is 117 so wetsuits would be required. The typical air temperature in the area in early October has a low of around 52 degrees F and the water temperate can range from the upper 60s to low 70s.
You do not need to apply or submit interest prior to registering but we encourage you to contact us with any questions. You need a partner, a team name, mandatory listed equipment and efficient training for this event.
